Gerard Boulay Sancerre Monts Dammes 2013
Country: France
Region Loire Valley
AOC: Sancerre
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
This wine family in the village of Chavignol has history in the area going back to 1380. They are making brilliant and age worthy Sancerre. If you want to benchmark top Sancerre this is a great bottle to have.
This wine is grown in a vineyard with an average vine age of 45 years. It is a bit shy initially opening after 20-30 minutes of being released. It has several years of aging ahead of it still. If you love classic age worthy Sancerre this is the wine for you, it drinks beautifully now and has room to age ten plus years.
Bouquet of Lemon, tangerine, lime peel, fresh-cut grass, white flowers and a touch of fresh lifted tarragon. Pure class on the palate with flavors closely follows the nose, great minerality and a beautifully balanced structure that will allow years of enjoyment.
